Default Bow/pet ranger?

Now, i've recently started a ranger who is currently a clean slate and i wanted to know what some people thoughts on this.

Before i start, i did search this forum and many others for my answers but i couldn't find something i was totally happy with.

One reason i started a ranger was to give the whole "pet" thing a shot, so what im wondering is if there is a build out there that utilizes the pet but doesnt take too much from your bows skills. I've tried a few but have failed to find one that really worked.
So far the only way i can see something working is if we increase the skill bar by about 2 skill slots.

I'd prefer a build that would work effectively in pvp.

So if anyone knows of one then please let me know XD

pets are generally not so usefull. The only time when you want to take a pet in PvP is when you have a skill that requires one (eg [Heal as One], [Rampage as One]) or when you have a pet attack which synergises really well with your bar (eg [Hammer Bash] + [Bestial Mauling])
In PvE, pets are used for the same reasons, or as cannon fodder

All in all, don't waste your precious skillbar with pets too much

Bow isnt the best weapon to use with a pet. Hammer or Spear on the other hand are. Some also say scythe.

The main problem of the pet is that it eats 2 slots just to be there and then a bunch of attribute points to start doing something.
